New Family! Meet the Hutsons!

Happy Sunday! I'm happy to introduce you to Necia and Mat Hutson. The Hutsons are adopting from Korea and hope to travel within the next couple of months to bring home their sweet son, Isaac.   I was able to meet Necia at Created For Care this year and am happy to say that there's a good chance we will be traveling to Korea together!  {Fingers and toes crossed that it's soon!}
Get your paypal buttons ready and watch the Hutsons video.  They are ready to add another member to their family of 4!   Isaac's brother and sister, Andrew and Olivia, are ready for him to be home, too!
Want to know more about them? Visit their blog at Pray For All Things and watch their video below.

Aren't they a sweet family??  I'm so glad I got to meet Necia this year.  Let's help them have a great week on our blog!  You will be donating via paypal on their Reece's Rainbow page. Start giving and sharing this page, friends!

Welcome the Hovdas! New Family of the Week!

Hey! I'm so glad you stopped by today! I'm happy to introduce you to Jon and Angela Hovda, our family of the week! Jon and Angela are adopting 2 handsome boys from China.  They should travel very soon to bring them home.
A little more info about their boys....
Jensen, the oldest, has Cerebral Palsy.  He has been worried that he will become too old for adoption and be without a family.  Pray for his heart as he's waiting and being told soon that he does, in fact, have a family coming.  Jack, the younger of these 2, was born with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a rare genetic condition. Some of the risks include cancer and a premature death.  These boys NEED to come HOME where their family can provide for their needs.  Their adoptions are being expedited due to Jensen's age and Jack's health needs being so severe.
Jack and Jensen will be welcomed by their family, including 2 big brothers and a little sister! They're all excited about their new brothers coming home.
Watch their video and get your Paypals ready! You will be giving through Reece's Rainbow (via Paypal).  Remember, Reece's Rainbow is an advocacy site that allows families to raise funds for their adoption. And your gift is tax deductible.   Very quick, very simple, very awesome.

Remember, adoption is expensive and while Jon and Angela can provide for their 2 newest sons after they come home, funding the trip to China--the airfare, hotels, etc-- is very expensive.  That's where you come in!
Can you commit to praying for this family and giving them a dollar or 2?  ($2 for 2 boys!?!) Your support means so much.  All of our small gifts add up to such a large blessing!  Read more about the Hovda family at their blog, Our Family Escapades  (where they also have a puzzle piece fundraiser happening now!) and on their Reece's Rainbow page.  DONATE HERE:) You're the best.
Thanks for your support!!

New Week--Meet The Dismukes!

I love having a new family to feature on Mother's Day! How was yours, by the way? I hope it was fun and filled with gifts or nice and quiet, with plenty of relaxation.....whatever you like best!  I know for some, it can be difficult, so to all of you mamas, soon to be moms, moms that have lost their sweet babies, birthmothers who love their children from afar, those whose mothers are already with Jesus and those of you who struggle with motherhood, happy Mother's Day. And to all of the women who have loved our children along the way, this day's for you, too.

Let me introduce you to the Dismuke family. Heather and Michael had originally planned on adopting a sweet little girl from Russia.  But, as you know, that is not possible right now.  So, the Dismukes have allowed themselves to fall in love again with a beautiful little girl from China.  They are matched with Johanna and are being matched with a second child, as well.  Right now, the Dismuke family has a matching grant with Lifesong.  Can you help them meet their grant? Your dollar turns to $2.....$5 turns to $10.  The Dismukes have been on their adoption journey for a while and it's taken some twists and turns.  Let's show them lots of love and support this week!
Here's a picture of the beautiful Miss Johanna...

Aren't I sooo cute????

READY TO DONATE?????

Here's how YOU can give to their grant.....it's super easy, don't worry!

1. Go to www.lifesongfororphans.org/give/donate
2. Select Give to an Adoptive Family
3. Complete online form and fill in Family Account Number & Family Name Fields with "Preference Dismuke # 3342 adoption"

Take a few minutes to visit their blog.....we don't have to have a video, right?? Visit Heather and Michael's blog ....Living According To His Glory.    (I happen to know Heather sells Pampered Chef, by the way!)

Enjoy your week! Thanks for being awesome!

Thank YOU!

Welcome! Thank you for stopping by today.

A note from a past Give1Save1 Asia mama, Sandy Kreps...

"We are so thankful for the support that Give1Save1Asia offered our family. In a day and age that grants are hard to come by - support from Give1Save1Asia and it's donors meant a lot to our family. We dream of a day that those who support adoption can work together hand in hand - some families offering to be a forever family and other families offering to financially make that possible, but until that day organizations like Give1Save1Asia offer families hope. Sandy (mom to seven including Darren our newest blessing from China). www.ourjourneyoffaithtochina.blogspot.com"

You were a part of their story, so thank you.

I look forward to kicking off 2013's families next week!  Happy Thursday, everyone!

Ethan's Update....Getting Involved

Hi friends....I hope you're all having a great week! We had major storms last night, but today is beautiful!

We have an update from the Tuckers about their son, Ethan. You may remember that Ethan was supposed to come home with them a few months back, but was too sick to travel. The Tuckers have had a lot of ups and downs.  Here's their latest update:

We finally got an update today on Ethan.  He made it safely to the hospital in Beijing.  After their evaluation, they have determined Ethan needs his pacemaker surgery BEFORE he can travel.  Half The Sky Foundation is currently working to get this surgery done.  The cost of the surgery is $16,000.  Half the Sky is currently raising funds for his surgery.  ALL of the funds raised from the G1S1Asia blog will be given to HTS in an effort to get his surgery done ASAP.  We needed help before...but we REALLY need help now to get this DONE!

Thanks for rallying behind the Tucker family!! Your generosity is appreciated and as you can see, going straight to fund Ethan's surgery.  You can donate through our big  "donate"  button on the left.  Want to offer them some encouragement? Their blog is Home Full of Girls...you can leave them a comment there.

I saw something cool on Facebook. If you're looking for a project for your family, homeschoolers, small group or anyone else, take a look at the Orphanos Foundation . You can send Christmas cards to children in orphanages around the world. They will provide you with name/age and even some sample greetings in their native language. I like it! Anyone can do it--check out the website for details about where to send them and the date deadline.  This program is called Kards 4 Kids and I think you'll like it, too.   Let me know where you send your cards!

You can also get involved with Samaritan's Purse through Operation Christmas Child.  The process is simple: pick an age, fill a box with goodies (details on website) and drop it off to be sent to a child who may not have much more for Christmas.   Click here to find a drop off location closeby.  (Lots of churches participate.)  You can read about the process and find other ways to get involved, like volunteering and giving.

What are your favorite holiday traditions?  Thanksgiving meal with family and friends? Christmas eve service? Driving around to see the lights?  Baking with your kids? As a little girl, I couldn't wait to see cousins at Thanksgiving and Christmas and to open 1 gift on Christmas eve.  Now my boys love that, too!

See ya soon!

Asia Representing!

It's here!! The Give1Save1Asia page is here! Are you as excited as we are?
Cue the applause and let the giving begin.
We are thrilled to feature adoptive families who are bringing their kiddos home from one of the many different Asian countries. Spread the word and invite others to join in the fun!
Is this your first time here? Browse through the other pages and see what you can find!
Let me tell you a little about how this works....

If you are a family adopting from Asia and want to be a featured family of the week, send me an email requesting an application to tonyagarrick5 (at) gmail.com and I'll send you one. Easy as that.
If you are a featured family of the week, your video will be featured from Monday through the following weekend. Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to give! Share it on Facebook, tweet it, Pin it....tell as many people as you can.  We want everyone to know that they can make a difference by giving $1.
If you are a giver, know that you are helping a family unite. There are families and children all over the world waiting to be together.  Your dollar counts. Thank you for giving! And while we're thanking people, let's thank Beth for following her heart by creating this site. She knows firsthand how much adoption can be.
Okay, let's get started...

We are starting off with a bang by featuring our very first family of the week.
Meet the Tucker family! They are a beautiful family of 6 who are adopting a sweet baby boy from China. Take a look at their video and get your wallets ready. (well, your paypal account) We are so glad you stopped by our page! Thank you for giving to the Tucker family and sharing this opportunity with your friends!  Check back often!
