Welcome the Hovdas! New Family of the Week!

Hey! I'm so glad you stopped by today! I'm happy to introduce you to Jon and Angela Hovda, our family of the week! Jon and Angela are adopting 2 handsome boys from China.  They should travel very soon to bring them home.
A little more info about their boys....
Jensen, the oldest, has Cerebral Palsy.  He has been worried that he will become too old for adoption and be without a family.  Pray for his heart as he's waiting and being told soon that he does, in fact, have a family coming.  Jack, the younger of these 2, was born with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a rare genetic condition. Some of the risks include cancer and a premature death.  These boys NEED to come HOME where their family can provide for their needs.  Their adoptions are being expedited due to Jensen's age and Jack's health needs being so severe.
Jack and Jensen will be welcomed by their family, including 2 big brothers and a little sister! They're all excited about their new brothers coming home.
Watch their video and get your Paypals ready! You will be giving through Reece's Rainbow (via Paypal).  Remember, Reece's Rainbow is an advocacy site that allows families to raise funds for their adoption. And your gift is tax deductible.   Very quick, very simple, very awesome.

Remember, adoption is expensive and while Jon and Angela can provide for their 2 newest sons after they come home, funding the trip to China--the airfare, hotels, etc-- is very expensive.  That's where you come in!
Can you commit to praying for this family and giving them a dollar or 2?  ($2 for 2 boys!?!) Your support means so much.  All of our small gifts add up to such a large blessing!  Read more about the Hovda family at their blog, Our Family Escapades  (where they also have a puzzle piece fundraiser happening now!) and on their Reece's Rainbow page.  DONATE HERE:) You're the best.
Thanks for your support!!

Time To Sign Up With Pure Charity/Dismukes' Week!

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week.
We have families lined up for the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you want to be on our blog! We're partnering with Pure Charity and we're excited about it!  CLICK HERE to sign up with Pure Charity! You can create a giving account, too, which you should do since most or our families will be on there.....and you can shop from there, too.

Now I want you to tell your friends about us! We want more likes on our Facebook page and we want to have as many supporters as we can! Our Asia family is growing and it's great! Let's keep putting the word out there.

You still have time to support our family of the week, the Dismukes.  They are adopting 2 children from China and could use your support! The Dismuke family appreciates your prayers, as well, as their adoption journey has had some bumps along the way.  They changed countries after Russia was closed to international adoption.  Let's show them some love!
Here's their blog link.  They have a MATCHING GIFT that will be a huge help with upcoming fees!
Follow these easy steps to donate to that grant and have your gift doubled!
1. Go to www.lifesongfororphans.org/give/donate
2. Select Give to an Adoptive Family
3. Complete online form and fill in Family Account Number & Family Name Fields with "Preference Dismuke # 3342 adoption"

It takes about 2 minutes:)
You're a rock star. Happy weekend.

Sunday Sharing!

Hello, good friends!  Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you're having a great weekend.  We are having nearly perfect weather, so I enjoyed some time outside with my boys this afternoon.  Now I'm drinking coffee.  And now it's a perfect day.

Since we don't have a new family this week (but we will next week, so stay tuned!)  I'm leaving the donate button up for the Cheathams.  They're adopting 2 beautiful children  (a boy and a girl) from China and are traveling very soon, so feel free to give to them this week, too.  Also, last week's family, the Rylands {also adopting 2 boys from China} have been given extra time to meet another matching grant.  Sooo, I'm encouraging you to donate to them, too.  (Remember, you can  donate on their blog--they have a donate button, too!)   If you already have, that's fine--you can do it again;)

Here are some links to my own fundraisers...you know, since I'm adopting, too!  You can visit me at  my personal blog,  Peaceloveandcaffeine.    You can also shop through Zoe Clothing (just type "garrick" at checkout) or through my link at She Does Justice. (<<happened to be started by last week's family on the Africa page)
She Does Justice You can find very cool handmade products there.
I love what these both of these companies stand for.  Businesses for good.  LOVE.   Do you have anyone you want us to learn about? Small business, non profits, etc?

OK, ready for an update?  Remember the Tuckers? They came home last week with BOTH of their       babies and YOU were part of their journey.  We're grateful for you. Be sure and check out our other pages, too---we're one big family here!

Have a wonderful week, friends!

Funds for Your Adoption

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by!

Have you seen Africa's page this week? They have a family to support and some good info over there.  Our Caribbean page has a family, too!  Give them a look.

A few FAQs for you to think about.......

Is adoption expensive?  YES.  Plain and simple.  Can you afford it?  YES, again! How, you ask??
Since adoption generally takes several months or even years, you should have time to start saving.  Look at your budget and what you can scale down or do without. For me, I"ve decided to skip buying new clothes for myself (no, my kids are not wearing rags) and go easy on my coffee habit! Also, we skipped the big vacation this year and are just, in general, watching our pennies.
Maybe you can get a part time job or use a tax refund.  Are you crafty? Sell your creations on Etsy:) Get creative!

Also, you can fund raise, apply for grants and of course, be featured on our blog!

Here are a few suggestions for fundraising.....

Flip Flop 2 Adopt was started by an adoptive family when they realized how expensive it was to bring their son home from Taiwan. Check them out!

Just Love Coffee is another. These 2 fundraisers allow people to shop and you get a portion of the proceeds.  Sweet!

Our domestic blogger, Bonnie, included fundraising tips on their page, too!

Did you have any hugely successful fundraising ideas you would like to share? I've heard of people hosting dinners, having garage sales, auctions......the list goes on!
Once you determine in your heart to adopt, you'll figure it out!

See ya next time!
